The Character
Her name is Mimosa, she is a 26 year old Borrower and Shoemaker. Her residence at the moment is in the attic of a hatshop where she gets her materials such as fabric, beads, feathers ribbons and whatever she fancies for her shoemaking escepades.
Borrowers are small people who live in the walls and floor of regular humans, also called Human Beans according to the Borrow vocabulairy. The live by 'borrowing' supplies and trinkets in a way humans won't miss them. This way the borrow cookies, milk, water, electricity and sometimes a little more.
Mimosa gets her shoemaking supplies from the hatshop, because the thick and sturdy materials human shoemakers use are difficult and unruly for a borrower to use. But the finer fabrics and leathers are perfect for a borrower's shoe. She makes shoes for both herself as others around the little town she lives in and travels by using her cape as a glider as she floats over rooftops and balconies.
Concept work for Mimosa
To create more depth in her personality I worked on several studies, like facial expressions, worldbuilding and game mechanics. By finding out where she would live and how she would move around I could make more direct descisions about her design. Mimosa has been designed as a Side Character in an Adventure Game. But she could also fit as a Merchant, Follower or even a Main Character.

Design sketches & Iterations
To design Mimosa's look I went through many iterations and chose to take my time. I worked both by sketching digitally and making collages with paper and fabric, to experiment with scale and texture.
